Hi there!
It is too boring work to draw some point in AutoCAD by typing each points co-ordinates.
and it also take a lot of your valuable time of yours
I am here to save your time and Now I'm gonna help you to solve your problem in just 5 min!
Read this post till end and also watch the video tutorial that is given in bellow
So in Today's session You will learn how to import points with respective labels from an excel data
sheet to AutoCAD with just one single click!!
I will use some easy commands and formulas that will make you
understand and you will be able to import points with just a single click !
First use CONCATENATE formula to create the [Easting,Northing] format or [X,Y] format.
CONCATENATE formula which joins two or more text strings into one text string.
Syntax
CONCATENATE (text1,text2,...)
Text1, text2, ... are 2 to 255 text items to be joined into a single text item. The text items can be text strings, numbers, or single-cell references.
Another Formula can be used
You can also use the ampersand (&) calculation operator instead of the CONCATENATE function to join text items. For example, =A1&B1 returns the same value as =CONCATENATE(A1,B1).
Now take two columns and in the first column type "PO". PO is an AutoCAD command, PO stands for POINT.
In the second column keep the [E,N] format.
Drag the formula to the end of your data limit.
Now copy all the data list within the two columns and paste in AutoCAD
See the bellow examples:
and Then:
Now you are done!
Your points will be imported into AutoCAD.
Now zoom the drawing to see the points and if the points are not visible then press ZOOM [Enter] EXTENT [Enter]
and change the Point Format
Format Menu--->Point Style-----> choose the Point style and size.
