How to Export Points data from AutoCAD to excel using LIST Command, Surveying

Sometimes we need to export points from AutoCAD to excel

This sounds different but it is also necessary to work with AutoCAD objects more confidently specially in Surveying it is very useful.

For example  if you have a drawing which have a polyline and you want to export the x y coordinates of each vertices of that polyline then what you will do ??

you can do it with using ID command in AutoCAD and then type the co-ordinate manually. But it takes lot of time and it will ruin your valuable time

If you use LIST command in AutoCAD then you can export all these data (all the x y coordinates of each  vertices) with just a few minutes.

So for this what you have to do select the polyline in AutoCAD and then use the command LIST before applying the commad make sure that your poly line is continuous and connected with each other and you have choosen a polyline not a Line and also check the alignment of the polyline that means check what is the starting point of the polyline in this manner the points will be exported

 When you press ENTER (applying LIST Command) button the coordinates will display in a dialogue box copy the column and paste it in a Excel sheet

after that in excel you have to arrange your data in such a manner that your Easting value and the Northing value get separated on different rows.

So to do this you have to select that column
Data---> Text to Column

Then another dialogue box will appear that is text to column wizard here you have to choose a delimited then Next.
Now check mark all the boxes and in the "other tab : ="
 then click Finish

Now get back to the excel and see that all your data has been separated to each column

Now I arrange your data as per your own needs
